Using gridOS on your phone

Pages that slide in, swipes on rows and between pages, date wheels, the bar and the + button, and what works without a connection.

gridOS works in the phone's browser, and better installed as an app (see Install the app and get notifications). Here is what's different on a phone.

Pages and going back

Clients, projects, tasks, invoices and proposals open as a page that slides in from the right. Go back with ‹ at the top, or swipe from the left edge of the screen. Pull a page down from the top to refresh it.

The bar at the bottom

The bar holds up to four pages, with their names, plus Menu for the rest. On one of the bar's pages, swipe sideways to go to the next one. On a page with tabs, such as Payments, Team or the Inbox, the same swipe moves between the tabs; on the calendar, it goes to the previous or next month, week or day.

To choose the four pages, open Menu › Organize, drag pages between the bar and the grid, and tap Done. Restore default puts back the original order. Trash is in Menu too.

The + button

The round + lists the everyday things first: Task, Event, Message, Note, Start timer, Expense (with a photo of the receipt) and File. More opens the rest: Log hours, Client, Project, Proposal, Invoice, Lead and Member. What you see depends on your role.

Swipe a row

In a list, swipe a row to the right or to the left:

  • Task: right for Done (or Reopen), left for Delete.
  • Open invoice: right for Mark as paid.
  • Unread notification: right for Mark as read, left for Snooze until tomorrow.
  • Note: right to pin it to the top, left to delete it.
  • Client: right to star it, left for Archive client.
  • Lead card: right moves it to the next stage.
  • Event: left to delete it.

What you can swipe depends on your role.

Dates and times

A date or time field opens wheels in your language. For dates, Today, Tomorrow and Next week jump straight there. Nothing changes until you tap Done; Clear empties a field that can be empty.

Touch and hold

To drag on a phone or tablet, touch and hold for a moment first: the bars on the Gantt and the project timeline, tasks in Workload, pages in Organize, and blocks on Home after Arrange.

Without a connection

If the connection drops, gridOS keeps showing your studio as it was last loaded, even if you open it offline, and a note says how many changes are waiting. What you do is saved and sent when the connection comes back. A few actions need a connection: gridOS says so, and you try again once you're back online.
