Start a conversation
In Chat, click New chat for a direct message, or New channel for a topic or project. Browse channels shows the ones you're not in yet.
In a conversation
- Send files (up to 25 MB each), voice notes and reactions.
- Reply in thread keeps a side conversation together.
- Hover a message (or hold it on the phone) for Create task, Remind me, forward and, in channels, pin it.
- You can edit a message for 24 hours and delete it for 1 hour.
On the computer
Away from the Chat page, a conversation opens in a small window at the bottom of the screen, so you keep working. Minimise it, or open it in the full chat.
Quiet by default
Channels only notify you when you're mentioned. Use the bell in a channel to be notified of every message. Mute a conversation for an hour, eight hours, until tomorrow or until you turn it back on.
